MEN'S LEAGUE POINTS STRUCTURE

Points are earned each week based on Net Scoring Standings.

  • The player with the highest net score (last place) will earn 10 points for the week.

  • Each position higher on the leaderboard earns a player 10 additional points.

  • Points are split evenly amongst all tied players in a given week.

Examples:

50 Players play in a week

  • The last place player earns 10 points

  • Three players tie for 25th, each player earns 250 points

  • The first place player earns 500 points

56 players play in a week

  • The last place player earns 10 points

  • Two Players tie for 37th, each player earns 195 points

  • The first place player earns 560 points

League Season Standings are based off of an accumulative point total earned throughout the course of league play.

Each player’s total points are based off of their ten highest weekly point totals over the course of the season.

Only official Golf Canada and USGA handicaps are recognized for net scoring in league play. Having a handicap, as well as properly maintaining it, is highly recommended for all league members as it will greatly impact your ability to place well in the standings!

If less than 50% of league members play, or are expected to play on a league day, the Professional Staff will make a decision on whether to cancel league play for the week.

Every effort is made to have weekly standings, winners, and updated league standings posted as soon as possible after league play. Thank you for understanding that it can be a long process to complete everything required for scoring in both our Men’s and Ladies’ leagues!

If you have any suggestions, comments or concerns about the league, please email proshop@braestoneclub.ca or feel free to speak with Cole and/or Brady any time at the club!

  • To win a skin, a player must have the lowest score on a single hole out of all players in the skins competition, ties not included.

  • In the event no player wins a skin in a given week, the money collected will be added to the next week’s Skins Pot. In this scenario, only players who participated in the previous skins game will be eligible to win carryover money.

LEAGUE RULES

  • Everyone is encouraged to play the White Tees, but you are welcome to play the Blue or Black Tees if you choose. Whichever Tees are played on your first hole must be played through the completion of the nine.

  • Scoring will be completed for 9 holes each week. Make sure to clearly write all names and scores on your scorecard, and hand it in to the pro shop after your round. Please ensure the scorecard is signed and attested by all group members.

  • When playing in the Shotgun Start, please remember to turn to the same nine as you are already playing (i.e. Finish #9, proceed to #1 OR Finish #18, proceed to #10).

  • If your ball comes to rest in a divot in your own fairway, you may place your ball within the length of one scorecard from its original position

  • Any ball that finishes in the bunker may be removed and dropped at the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole. If you do choose to play from any bunker, lift, rake and place is in effect. The ball may be placed within one club length of the original position, no closer to the hole. You are permitted to remove loose impediments (stones) from bunkers.

  • Remove all balls from Ground Under Repair (GUR) areas to the nearest point of relief and no closer to the hole, taking no penalty.

  • Right side of the fence on Hole 4 will be played as Out of Bounds. One stroke penalty, replay shot from location of previous stroke.

  • Treat all other marked and unmarked hazard areas as red-staked. One stroke penalty, drop the ball at point of entry with two club lengths of relief, no closer to the hole.

  • The Temporary Cart Path on Hole 13 should be played as a regular cart path. If your ball ends up on the temporary path, you are entitled to take relief from the path with no penalty.

  • If you are unsure of a ruling, play two balls from the point of uncertainty, record both scores, and prepare to fully explain the situation following your round.
